combating femicide

The Speech

My participation in the debate dedicated to combating femicide was a profound and necessary experience. I had the opportunity to emphasize not only the seriousness of this phenomenon, but also the role and voice of women in the diaspora, who must be an active part of the international dialogue on safety, dignity and rights.

Women in the diaspora often bear double responsibilities between two cultures, two systems and, sometimes, two different social realities. Therefore, it is essential that their perspectives are listened to and integrated into public policies and protection initiatives.
I thank the organizers for the invitation and for creating a space for open, responsible and solidary dialogue between women from several countries.
Only through cooperation, empathy and joint action can we build a society in which every woman is respected, protected and valued.
